View Full Version : Somebody has a new guitar - what can it be?

Robert

Well, I could not wait ANY LONGER! I was sucked out of the house tonight, being called by this mysterious force at the guitar store. Something there was pulling and pulling, reeling me in like Tone2TheBone does to a rainbow trout with his flyfishing rod.
:rotflmao:

In case you don't believe me, I have proof. It should come as no surprise - it's a Michael Kelly Patriot Shadow. And it ROX! My SOX OFF! :dude:

Next steps:

1. Plug the MK into the Mack, with a good OD pedal in the chain.
2. Dime the Mack. Crank it. All. The. Way.
3. Set up video camera and start recording.
4. Hit that first power chord, and stand so we can see the grinning.
5. Post to TheFret a ton of Robert noodling.

I gotta hear clips, man. You're gonna sound fantastic on that thing!:bravo:

PS: That first pic oughta be your new avatar.:AOK:

Yeah, it's kinda hard to tell if you like your new toy! :whatever: BTW, hope you enjoy the guitar you bought with MY WINNINGS. I thought it was my turn to win the raffle. When's the next one?

At lunch today, I took the the Patriot Shadow and plugged into a maxed 18 watt Heatseeker. No pedals.

Guess what? Very disappointing. Not sure what to think. It sounded just dull. Maybe my Heatseeker favours single coil guitars?

The Patriot Shadow sounded great at the store through a Vypyr and a Classic 30.

Marshall time ??

No! , realy i think your Heatseeker is tune for a Start sound ,you should try with a big disto pedal & the Rc Booster or with your Reverand ..

Well that's just not right. You, the winner of our raffle, need to be happy with your purchase. I hope that you can dial it in, or maybe you can take it back and find something that knocks your socks off at the store. Keep us posted!

Sorry to hear that you're not as thrilled with the sound as with the purchase... I for one can't wait to hear what you do with a humbucker guitar, just our of sheer curiosity. IF the Patriot don't do it, try the Vik....

You probably got one of the ones on recall.
I have heard they are pretty good guitars for the money!

Good luck. I just found a thread (http://www.thefret.net/showthread.php?t=10144)about the head stocks snapping off on those.

Has it developed that crack at the base of the neck? I hear the truss rod pops out of those when you really play them hard.

Good thing I'm such a softie then! :D

Nigel Tufnel: The sustain, listen to it.
Marty DiBergi: I don't hear anything.
Nigel Tufnel: Well you would though, if it were playing.
