Finally got all my ducks in a row and assembled my "beat the winter blahs" project. Chrome red MIM bod, MM neck, Spertzel lockers, TS pups and garish pickguard. Still needs a pro set up ( I know nothing), but doesn't sound too shabby so far! Something sorta strange happened though, and I'm wondering if anyone can shed some light on it. The 1st tone control knob was either very muffled or very bright, with almost no middle ground. Now, for whatever reason, it works really well from 1 to 10. I didn't change anything when I swapped it out of my other Strat.

I have pics uploaded, but don't know how to post (several failed attempts have made me lazy), so they're there if yer interested.

And thanks again to everyone here for their input and info, made things VERY easy to understand and work through!! :master:

Looks really good Windy! Can't really help with the sound issue, but there's plenty experts around here. Somebody around here can help you.
