I'm watching it again for about the umpteenth time. It's kinda lame, but I've always enjoyed the music in it, more specifically Ry Cooder's slide magic. He really lays down some cool sounds that are set the appropriate mood for the scenes. It adds a lot of soul to an otherwise somewhat lame 80's take on the 1950's. If nothing else, Michael Pare does do a good job of kicking some butt, especially Willem Defoe's.

Never heard of it; boy does it seem lame.

But it's hard to beat Ry Cooder.

Those 2 clips were from the movie never to be heard again outside the movie. Many soundtracks are the same way. There was one song, "I Can Dream About You" by Dan Hartman that actually was a hit. In fact, it's probably my favorite song from the movie, other than Ry's background music. Before you pass total judgment though, you ought to watch it sometime. The video clips Gil has posted are not the main part of the movie. They merely set the stage as Ellen Aim being a "local star".

BTW Gil, it's one of my all-time favorites too.
