Hi!
What scale is best to use in the Bon Jovi smash hit, Wanted Dead or Alive?
We play it in standard tuning and in D.
Is it Bm blues scale or..............?

Sorry about my dumbass:thwap: question.....
It´s not that I don´t know how to play it, but
I like to improvise all my solos and not to always
stick with the original soloing. I just want to know
how you guys would do an improvisation to this great song?

Well, Bon Jovi is kind of my arch-enemy so I don't know the song...but why don't you try playing the solo, and going back up through the notes to find the scale?

Hey Steffe,

If I am not wrong the solo is written in the Dorian Mode. Please check information about that mode first and get a little familiar with it. Then download the BT to that song and apply the new learned Mode. At least this was as I would approach an improvisation. Of course I would also try to pick out some of the tasty licks and learn them. Also watch some live versions of this song over at youtube. When you see BJ play variations you might get faster behind the song and understand how to play with the BT later on. you picked a great song here. I have seen BJ on every tour in Germany he played in the last 10 years and they get better everytime I see them.
