I thought of an idea to help members gain exposure to the players listed in this thread Top 15 most influential guitarists (http://www.thefret.net/showthread.php?t=10434).

Folks that know a player's best songs, ones that really showcase their style and ability not just most popular, can list their song suggestions under a thread such as Billy Gibbons greatest hits.

What that will do is allow us to build a data base of that player's strengths and expose people to material they might not have heard before.

Since we are in a digital era and have easy access to songs via the web those songs could be downloaded to our computers, Ipods, MP3 players etc pretty easily. That way we can end up with a collection of songs that really gets to the meat and potatoes of a player and avoid some of the weaker material. Cream of the crop if you will.

The Greatest Hits songs can ONLY come from the players on the lists in the link above.

Lets keep them in Thechnique, Theory and Playing (http://www.thefret.net/forumdisplay.php?f=38)forum.

I had more in mind to make individual threads for each player. When someone would do a search for that artist in the future they would then turn up this treasure trove of great song recommendations.

I started a few examples.
