Hi Guys
I am looking to buy a pedal booster, any ideas? I like the idea of the Seymour duncan pickup booster or maybe a treble booster like the colorsound.

I like the RC Booster and the 19 Sixty 3 (by www.gtrwrks.com).

My brother has a colorsound, but i am not convinced at the moment. The SD sells for around £70 where the Colorsound for around £130!.

Treble boosters like the Dallas Rangemaster were used to kick dark valve amps in the front end. They were very popular to brighten and drive the front end of a VOX normal channel. In extreme use this is the Brian May sound. Clapton's Bluesbreaker tone is a treble boost into a JTM45 combo. Unless you need the brightening effect I'd suggest a full range booster. It depends on how it works with your amp, really.

I use an Electro-Harmonix Nano LPB1 Linear Power Booster (http://www.zzounds.com/item--EHXNANOLPB1) - a nice small volume boost pedal - I like it, fairly cheap - seems to work well, no noise.
But what do I know, I only play at home :thwap:

I use the Barber Launch Pad.

I also use it to run two amphs at once, but like Gil what do I know?

Thanks for the info guys, my trouble is that many of the local guitar shops only stock a few boosters/none so it is hard to try one out. I could just buy the colorsound and get the Gilmour tone.

If you're handy with a soldering iron, this is a great booster--very flexible with 3 different boost modes, plus 3 different EQ settings for the Rangemaster portion of the circuit:

Here's their UK distributor:

that was my very first "effect" purchase , back than it was a tiny box that plugged directly into the amp.
