Has anyone played one of these?
I love this kind of look, but I'm not sure what they sound like. Apparently Steve Salas plays this brand, which makes me think they're reasonably performance-oriented as well. I saw one just sell on Yahoo auctions here in Japan for 20,000 yen (about 200 US bucks), which seems very cheap.

Here's a link:

If anyone has tried one of these I'd be very keen to hear about it. Cheers.

I haven't played one but they sure look cool and if Stevie is playing them they must be good.

I have played a couple of the Italia models although not the mondial. They seemed pretty well put together for the money. I saw them at a trade show and I must say the looks of them really turned my head. pretty cool. Certainly looked better than the pic on the ESP site. As for sound, there were no amps at the show so I can't vouch for the sound but the Wilkinson pups are decent I believe. Necks felt good and easy to play. I'd say if you could get one for 20,000 (yen) at the very least you wouldn't be disappointed. In fact, maybe I'll be the one bidding against you next time. Thanks for the tip!;)

I have always thought that Italia guitars had serious retro mojo going.

I once picked one up for a minute, but unfortunately didn't have time to play it.
