I first saw the Barenaked Ladies on 'Speakers Corner'

'Speakers Corner' was a video booth belonging to City TV in Toronto, Ontario where for $1 you could speak your mind. City TV would then produce a show of the weeks video's.

The Barenaked Ladies used this medium to get a little home town promotion.
