Never played one so I'm technically disease free I suppose.

My take is that if I came across one, I'd keep it as a collectors item and promptly go back to playing my Matons.

I had one back in the early 70's.....but it wasn't such a big deal then.

Well, I'd never able to afford one, so it's a moot point. :D

Closest I might ever come is one of those Epi '56 Goldtop models.

Oh, I must admit you picked a very inexpensive piece of gear here :rotflmao:

A LP 1959, an original Stradivari violin and Jimi hendrix's Woodstock Strat have the highest level of mojo an instrument can ever achieve.

I'm in love with all the three of them. The 1959 LP is a dream and remains a dream to the most of us.

Here's that German dude Udo, playing a 59 and playing a 59 that once belonged to Dickey Betts. Lucky guy, he! The sound of a 59 coupled with a dimed JTM45 is MAGIC! :AOK:

It has to be "good wood" to begin with, not every old guitar I have now or in the past is as good as it gets, but for the most part "old wood" is better, for what ever reason.
