As a born and bred Pacific Northwesterner, and still living in the upper left corner of the country, it has been hard to be a sports fan of late. But at last something to cheer about! Go Huskies! Beat those Boilermakers!

I'm pretty happy to see Michigan win their first game after an 11 year absence from the tourney. Unfortunately I had a meeting so I missed the game.

USF may not exactly excel in basketball but they play in the Big East, arguably the toughest conference (maybe the ACC). It is great to see so many Big East schools in there (though West Virginia blew the Big East first round winning streak). If and when USF ever gets a decent basketball program going, it will benefit them greatly being in this conference. I have two Big East teams in my final four (Pitt and Louisville) so hopefully this will be a big year for the conference. I just hope as Louisville progresses that Pitino doesn't decide to break out the white suit again. Coaching a team from Kentucky is no reason to dress like Col. Sanders.

Is University of San Francisco in it? ;)

Sorry, not a big fan of south east teams. Mostly due to football. ;) ;)

I wasn't a fan of the south east schools either, until I went to one. :D

The only other southern school I root for in basketball is Kentucky as my wife was born in Lexington. Not the best year for UK basketball though.

LOL!! I am just plain a west coast boy (particularly northwest) through and through. And like I said, finally something to cheer about again.

SVL.....you could always turn your allegiance towards the Green and Gold of Oregon......GO Ducks.......or my alma mater......University of Kentucky.

Two Big East teams moved into the Elite 8 tonight (UConn and Pitt) and Villanova is under 2 minutes from beating Duke and making it three Big East teams. There is no doubt who is the dominant conference this year. The Elite 8 is set to be a mini Big East tournament. It is possible to have an all Big East final four. Now THAT would be something.

Well, Huskies are out, so I am rooting for Gonzaga. I did go to Catholic High School, and did like Ol' Bing when he was alive.

SVL.....being Catholic.......then you ought to root for Philly's Villanova. :poke: And maybe we'll get an all-Catholic final? :AOK:
