Have a look at www.abebooks.com - I use it often and you can find gems in there. I just got a Jerry Coker jazz book for $7.00. You can get used books for really cheap there, but read the descriptions - books can be anything from new to well worn.

I've bought a lot of good stuff from there, including non-music books of course. :AOK:

Searching for "play guitar" gives plenty of results... - see

http://www.abebooks.com/servlet/SearchResults?kn=play%20guitar&sts=t&x=0&y=0

Many of them $1.00.

It's a great site, basically a subscription service for second hand bookshops. It'll never replace browsing in a proper second hand bookshop though but maybe not this one (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JIvnz73Zsws).

Subscription? Not really - you can just buy any book you want without subscribing to anything.

Sorry to muddy things, I meant the booksellers subscribe to the site, not the customer.

That name sounds like a store I've bought from through the Amazon used dealer section. :AOK:

This one comes with a free guitar. Great deal for a buck.

Shipping charges are very high, It doesn't cost what they charge, I'll stick to Amazin.com for now,

Shipping charges are down to the individual bookseller. Look, this is how it works. I've got a little second hand bookshop in Wellington, NZ and I have some books that I could sell if I had a wider customer base say, someone in the mountains of Kentucky or Ontario. I pay a fee to abebooks.com to list my books on their site but I'm still going to have to charge the full costs of packing and shipping that parcel halfway round the world. Hence the high shipping charges. Amazon are a global corporation who can source the book you want more locally and, if not, are big enough to swallow some of the costs. Abebooks is really for that out of print item that's hard to find in the local stores.
