Hey,

I'm in this soloing competition thing, and i've reached the 'finals'. The winner gets a choice between three Ibanez guitars:

- FR1620-BK
- RG2550Z-GK
- S5470-TKS

If i were to win, i'm not sure which one i'd pick.. I was thinking of going for the FR, cause i pretty much hate shred, but i'm not entirely sure. What are your opinions? Anyone familiar with these guitars?

I know nothing about any of them until doing some quick reading now. I would go with the S5470-TKS as it appears to have more to offer. Although I like Ibanez, I am not too keen on any of them, but the S5470-TKS would be my choice if someone was handing me a free one.

Good luck in the contest.

I guess I should have posed the question on the forum after I entered the contest for an ES335, but asking "should I take the ES335 or turn it down?" would result in a resounding one sided answer.

EDIT: Going by looks, I would choose the FR1620-BK

Edit again: If I could change my vote I would probably go with the FR1620-BK - I guess I will let looks make this decision. If a Mod has the power, they can change my vote in the poll.

It's tough to go wrong with the Prestige series. They are well built guitars. I'm not a fan of Floyd Roses so I'd go with the FR1620 but I'm sure they are all great guitars.

I'd go for the FR1620-BK also.

Of those choices, I personally like the S5470-TKS. Hope you win!

The S5470 would be my choice. Very comfortable to hold, nice resonant mahogany body, light weight.

If you are looking in that price range why not think about a JS or the SV5470 as well? Both of those are coil tapped. The S5470 isn't.

I'd choose the first one (FR1620-BK). The other two look like your standard-issue-hair-metal guitars (which isn't necessarily a bad thing - do you have big hair?). Good luck with the "soloing competition thing".

Id definitely go for the S one, great tone with a nice light body (and a awsome trem)

Based on my limited experience playing around with some Ibanez's at Spud's, I pick the S one.
