I've wanted to try a British one but haven't had the opportunity.

Here, on the Tech21 website, where the Blonde's demo you posted came from. Video demos of all of them. The Brit (Marshall) has 2 sound samples besides the video demo:

I have had the Liverpool for a while now and still love it. It does the Vox chimey crunch thing perfectly. I also like it for clean zing and it has taken over my S.H.O. as a clean-zing-boost. It really is a very versatile pedal.

Have you ever tried it direct--to PA, recording, or headphones?

I have only used it as a stompbox. Not sure how it would sound direct but it sounds great through an amp.
