Rocket has or had the Speedster. He used it in a video clip and it sounded ok.

I've got two of them... a red Speedster and silver Escape EG-1. Both very different from each other and each a prize.
Speedster is 24-3/4" scale with hot single-coil... EG-1 is 25-1/2" scale with humbucker.
I never leave home without them.

Have you tried any of the acoustics Rocket?

I thought the nylon string one might be cool as I don't own a nylon string guitar.

I like each for their own individual sound applications.

No.

Aside from everything else... they're extremely fun to play and always draw attention. I play mine through my RP-500 and Acoustasonic SFX and can get just about any sound that I want.
The Escape EG-1's built in "Pocket Rock-It" preamp/headphone amp is a waste and not worthy of note... I leave mine off!

Yeah I wondered about the Pocket Rock-it. Have you ever played one the the Steinberger guitars without the headstock? I hear that they make great travel guitars.

Yes, I played one on a cruise ship some years ago... belonged to a band member. For the price, I wasn't impressed at all. They're not really small, just headless... they're not lightweight, and they're a maintenence burden.
The key selling points of the Traveler is the small profile, lightweight, low maintenence, and low cost. The only downside is changing strings is a tad clumsy... I can live with that.

I often tell my wife that I'm going in to the basement to play a little guitar.

So now when she sees me heading for the basement she asks me what sized guitar am I going to play. Strum, It'd be great to say a little one, wait for her to say how little & pull that one out of my pocket. :D

As another entry in everything is part of the same conversation I submit the fact that I just received an email this morning from Amazon.com saying that as someone who has previously been interested in musical instruments I might like to know that Amazon is now carrying Traveler Guitars.

Does the speedster's single coil sound like any particular switch position? Like a neck pup sound or bridge? I would probably prefer a single coil in the longer scale, but just wondering.

I'm not a Fender-ite so I won't even attempt to make a comparison to standard Fender singles. Oddly enough, it doesn't pick up transient noise.
I prefer the Speedster to half of my electrics though.

Rocket, do you use it for work? I know you don't use the "w" word, but you know what I mean.

I've not gigged with either but I wouldn't hesitate to, in a pinch... especially with the Escape EG-1.
I should mention that the EG-1 has a slightly fatter neck than the Speedster. The Speedster does "feel" fragile... but it's not. I've dropped it several times and taken a chunk out of the neck and it still kicks it out. I have yet to drop or mishandle the EG-1 (jinx)!

Townsend with a Speedster. A rock animal.

Townsend IS my mother's maiden name... I do have a dead uncle named Peter Townsend who used to be national head of B.P.O.E (Elks).

I'm guessing you're referring to The Who's Pete Towns(h)end though?

Yes Mr Correction, that is what I was using as a comparison.
