Dire Straits at the Rockpalast, 1979

I've really been enjoying this 30 year-old concert by the original Dire Straits line up from 1979, featuring songs from their first two albums. Mark Knopfler has me wanting to play nothing but one of my Strats through a clean amp set-up! Man, what an instantly recognizable style & tone he as. Truly one of the greats....

Mark and the original band really nailed a new and unique sound when they hit with Sultans Of Swing. Too bad he doesn't play like he did then, but at least he's still got quality music dripping from his fingers.

I remember the "Calling Elvis" tour.. he played different guitars on every song, and they had quite the set list!

Awesome tone and playing all the way.
