Anyone know where you can find old harmony guitars. I have been looking for an Harmony H77 semi Hollow body guitar for quite some time, but cannot find them anywhere. I check ebay, craigslist regularly. Does anyone know a place that I could look? Thanks in advance for any help.

I can give you two links to check periodically.....neither has one right now, but they will search for one (at least they used to) if you contact them.
The downside is they're not cheap. (George Gruhn has a pretty good reputation for finding used guitars).

The world's got wise to these. They are the poor man's Gretsch and are getting a bit sought after now. The last one I saw for sale was marked up at £895 in a central London shop.

Anyone know where you can find old harmony guitars....and some of them are/were actually damn good guitars that never quite got enuf respect. The plain Jane chromed PUs on some models are exceptionally good.
Good luck!

Are you still looking for a Harmony H-77 guitar? I am the original owner of a 1968 H-77 in pretty good shape.http://www.thefret.net/imagehosting/thum_991449f8c77f06263.jpg (http://www.thefret.net/vbimghost.php?do=displayimg&imgid=1087) looking to sell.

Whatever happened here? I'm guessing nothing.

Has anyone here at the fret ever owned an H-77? I had one of those elusive/transcendent old guitar experiences while in Mexico, and I'm looking for info on this model. Found stuff on the web, but looking for first hand testimonials from the brotherhood......

for the record...

This is a pretty informative piece on the H-77 (http://harmony.demont.net/guitars/H77/219.htm)

I wonder if there's a less expensive option for a similar guitar...

define "similar" - 335? or 6120 ish?

These are old US made guitars, but even in GREAT shape it appears you're looking at 800 or so, IF you can find one.

there are lots of great 335 type guitars out there for less than 500, but I wouldn't really consider that similar.

This is a hollowbody, with D'Armond "gold foil" single coil p'ups and a baseball bat neck. Pretty unique, it seems to me.
