We have three nests in the woods behind our house. They usually start having articles in the local paper about eggs and then when they hatch.

We have a surprisingly large number of bald eagles around here. You haven't seen a bird fly until you've seen one of those.

Although we have three nests behind the house, I never saw any of them flying (unless the were so high up that I couldn't tell).

Last fall I was coming home from work and saw two catching the updraft as they soared low enough where I could see their eyes. It was the first time I witnessed them in the wild and it was one of the most magnificent things in nature that I experienced.
