Well, I played my Fender Lite Ash Strat thru the Swart for the first time yesterday (only the second guitar I've played thru it yet). Man, what a beautiful tone!
Obviously the Seymour Duncan single-coils are not as high output as the slightly overwound Peavey HP's humbuckers, so I was able to run the amp's vol up to 8 (of 11) to roughly equal the same overdrive that the Peavey HP put out at an amp volume of 5 - 6. Again, the Strat's vol knob worked wonders - from clean to fairly saturated. (Swart's tone setting backed off just a bit from the Peavey HP's best setting.)
Robert, knowing that you're a single-coil lover, I bet you would just drool at the Strat's sound thru the Swart! Simpy magical! I can only imagine what your Suhr would sound like! I must've played for a good 3 hours straight! And I was so involved in playing, I completely forgot to try the 3dB switch - I'll do that w the Strat before I move on to another guitar.
Well, I think my Epi Casino is next up for the Swart treatment (P90s). I'm just gonna love that! Then the Ibanez jazzbox...then..
Michael Swart warned me that this amp is addictive, and man, was he ever right! *L* I've played more in the last 4 days than I have in the last 2 weeks!
