Please allow me to introduce myself, I’m a man of wealth and means………..

Not really. Just another geezer still hacking away at it. My wife and I play classic rock in bars and restaurants and pitch original stuff on the side. I play an Alvarez AF90SCK and an Ibanez AF73 through a Peavey Classic 30/112 combo; the wife plays an Ibanez Artcore AGB200 and a vintage Fender Mustang through a Fender Bassman 250/210. Been doing the duo for over 30 years.
Looking forward to learning more about these toys I love so much.

Thanks. We're in Dunnellon, just southwest of Ocala. Were looking to move soon though - no work here. Where are you located in Florida?

Sebastian, eh? Man, that would be great. I could work in some snook fishing along with the gig! Your area has some excellent snook fishing.
If you can give me any info on places that book duos with classic rock, I would appreciate it. We do a variety of stuff, including the mandatory Buffett (by Florida Law).:D

I stopped officially performing last year but if you look at Ernie Southern's (http://www.erniesouthern.com/venues.asp) website, he lists all the locals where he still performs. Ernie lives directly across the street from us (and BTW, his house is for sale.)

If you ever feel like coming over to check out the area, let me know and we'll host your visit and tour-guide the area for ya.

Thanks - great resource for places to play. I really like his playing. I'm trying to get bookings from St. Augustine down to your area. If we're playing down there, I'll drop you a line.

Thanks all.

Well, if you end up living nearby we could share some genre pointers... your setlist works for me.

We're looking for a cooler climate, been in Florida since '85.
If we get some work down your way, I'll definitely give you a holler.

Not quite THAT cool. We grew up in the northeast and have lived most of our lives in the south. We're looking at the Carolinas.

I'm gonna spell it Chthonich.

Some folks smoke it, but I don't how they fit that huge fish in a doob. No wonder it's called a fatty.

Yup. That looks like a Sebastian snook. To those of you who don't know, the snook is one of the smartest, hardest fighting and best tasting fishes that swims.

We call people like me who fish for them "Schnooks".:D

Haha, yeah, it's kinda gotten out of hand of late. But when I stumble on, for (the most recent) example, an Epi Thunderbird bass for a Benjamin even, it's hard to say no. Sign of how bad it is: I'm actually selling one, and not to raise money to buy something else. Just to free up some space!

Gainesville is a wonderful (or terrible, depending on your point of view) place for someone afflicted with GAS to live.

Uh-huh... same here. That's why I sell 'em... make room for the new ones.
I won't sell to anyone though... I always offer a great discount and insure they go to good deserving people that appreciate the bargain.
It's know as "CRUGE" elsewhere!
