No, my son didn't bring home another exotic pet - my daughter brought home a pair of those, those, those shoes!!!

I know they're butt-ugly, but they ARE comfortable! I've worn out one pair and well on my way to wearing out a second pair.

Ugly is in the eyes of the beholder. They could be considered "Shrek" shoes. Or, they could put on a turned up pointed toe and recall the footwear of the Netherlands.

In either case, your daughter has shown the wisdom and confidence not to bow to the whims of fashion and elevate comfort and practicality over fashion. After all, what is better for her feet, those Sex in the City pumps or Crocs? ;) :D

Ok, I'll bite... What's so notable about Crocs? Looks like the same knockoff sandals/flip-flops one could get at Wal-Mart to me. Must just be the name, huh?

I have 2 pair. I have grape purple and sea blue. My 3 year old has pink and lavender and pretty much refuses to wear any other shoe right now.

I will admit, they are not the most aesthetic looking piece of footwear that I own, but they are the most comfortable. If your feet are not happy, the rest of you will not be happy either. Crocs are easily the most comfortable shoe i have ever worn.

I've had a pair for about two years now. I have never had more comfortable shoes. As for the looks, I couldn't really care less what other people think about the look of my shoes. They're my feet. If the shoes on my feet really bother other people, I pity them for being so shallow.

I'm seeing more and more guys wearing them. They're really big with women in the medical and other industries who are on their feet a lot. I can understand why.

Mine aren't pretty (OK, they're butt-ugly), but they ARE comfortable! :AOK:

Here's the ones I wear:

Looks like the reincarnation of the old '70's "Earth Shoe" to me.

sunvalleylaw
May 28th, 2009, 09:13 PM
Kind of a cross between a birkenstock and and earth shoe made out of some sort of rubbery plastic stuff. Softer than Birks, and your heel is not below your fore foot like earth shoes were.

R_of_G
May 28th, 2009, 09:18 PM
they're also less expensive than birks. i still have my birks (they're 11 years old now) and they're still comfortable as can be but the crocs are more comfortable.

Well, and now there are three. My wife went out and purchased two pairs. She ran out to the Croc Store (for those that don't know, they have their own store). We have an outlet mall and there is a Croc Store there. Wait, it gets worse, a friend of the family works there. My wife got two pairs for $10.

This has to be a bad dream. Maybe I should tell my wife since she got two pairs of Crocs, I am entitled to one 335.

Maybe you can get two for $10? Shoot, I'd like to get that deal, even on the crocs. I could use a coupla more pair at $5 a pair. :AOK: :AOK:

Has anyone used these as water shoes? They look like they'd drain well, but do they become slippy, or grippy when wet?

Anyone know? :munch:

Wow, didn't even know that was there. It's been a while since I actually been in DIA.

Those things are all over the Denver Metro area. Every little boutique, tanning salon, & department store sells them. It looks like they're based in Boulder/Niwot which is just up the road from me.

Nope. Not for me. The first time I saw Crocs quite a few years ago were little kids out in the supermarket with their Moms. Now I see these big burly men out and about in their Harley t-shirts and Crocs. I almost burst out laughing quite a few times. What's next? Garanimals for adults?

If you ever run into an outlet store for Crocks let us know. I'd like to get some...uh...for a gift. Ya, that's the ticket.:)

I'll check into getting a discount on quantity of shoes from the outlet store for those that would like to buy some for themselves and for those that would like to buy some...uh...for a gift.

I'm not sure how much of a discount you guys will get after shipping cost.

Some people think so. I personally don't. Guess that explains the Crocs also. :whatever:

They actually are very comfortable. Algonquin, the shoes themselves don't slip, but your foot might slip in them. You wear them a little loose and when your foot gets wet, it sometimes tends to slip around in the shoe. 'Course, I am a little bit on the goofy side... :thwap:

Thanks Ron. I'm looking for something other that sandals for when I'm canoeing. I'd much rather have something on my feet when I unload the boat... not sure if they're the ticket or not.

Much appreciated,
David

I think they would do well for that too. Hard core river guides that need the shoes to stay extremely fastened on while guiding rafts through rapids may choose teva type sandals that strap on harder, but crocs would be very comfortable water shoes for lake canoeing, etc. I use them with our ski boat all the time.
