Even through my troubles with eBay, I was able to win this great guitar. The link is http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...sid=p2761.l1259
It is a HSS or fat Strat MIM and it was bought at a great price considering it was made in 2007 MZ7xxx. I had trouble with eBay where I had to return a guitar that was a great deal, but not a great guitar. That one was $300 with case but the guitar was MN9xxx and had been used pretty thoroughly.
I'll be getting the guitar tomorrow by local pickup and I'll be sure to post some pics up. Does anyone know about the HSS and how it compares to the typical SSS.
I've been reading numerous threads on the differences mainly being:
No quack with the humbucker (which i tend to dislike because its so sharp)
Humbucker has a higher output so it is potentially louder and also it has more mid.
Fuller and deeper sound. And better for solos.
How does it play blues rock?
I wanted to share my purchase with the rest of you guitar fanatics (me being one of them. I just love the sound and look of guitars).

Nice looking guitar. I've always liked the necks on the 2007s. Does this one have th4e heavier tremolo block as well?

Rosewood boards look best on a burst body. That's a sweet guitar. I hope you enjoy the hell out of it. :AOK:

About SSS and SSH - I don't really use the bridge single that much if at all. I have a Lone Star Strat from the 90s and I love playing it just as much as my JV Strat. I have to be honest, I LOVE the feel of my JV's V-neck but the Lone Star wins for versatility. I have a DiMarzio vintage blues neck single and a hs-2 in the middle. Both are dead silent and ooze tone. In addition, I have the Duncan Pearly Gates+ in the bridge and it is also tapped (from last tone knob - push/pull). All that = a hell of a lot of tonal selections even though I just drool over the neck slightly overdriven every time. Play it like you stole it, man, it's a sweet guitar you scored there.

i agree to the fullest extent
i heard maple was better for playing tho
slicker and smoother apparently, but
thats from what i hear

rosewood also warms it a little

All my Strats have maple boards but if I had a finish like that I would have to grab one with a rosewood board. That's a classic, killer look. The '07s have the jumbo frets and bigger block. I think you'll be happy with your choice.

Very nice guitar! Make sure you take care of the fretboard! Rosewood cracks very easily, so you better oil it with fretboard oil everytime you change strings (which would be every 6-8 months on Robert's guitars ;) )

I do so with my rosewoodboards. Just an advice. :AOK:
