This is my Japanese 50s reissue Strat (circa late 1980s). I have these little circular cracks and I am curious as to what caused them, just based on the shape. There are a few on the back, too. Any ideas?

Also, I now have a new-old stock neck on this guitar (same exact neck as the original). Any reasonable way to slightly age it to blend with the rest of the guitar?

Sort of like crop circles, maybe Tot can explain.

I call them "love dimples."

I think it's just bumps happening to a brittle finish. They look cool to me.

How is the neck finished now?

Re tinting the neck, search www.tdpri.com for "kiwi". It's a shoe polish. If you use the brown (not the tan or red-brown) polish it will stain the neck nicely.

Thanks. The neck has the vintage tint to it, but it's new and shiny. Not a huge deal, but I was just wondering if there was a way to blend the neck and body aesthetically so they look the same age more or less.
I'll look into the Kiwi thing on tdpri.

the cracks wil be marks caused by pressured on the respective part of the body.

i have alot on my guitar, on the back, from my studded belts and stage digs etc.
