I'm 56 and have been playing since I was 12. Played in garage bands in the 60s and early 70s, and had 3 Gibsons which I never should have sold. I played my acoustic only occasionally over the years, you know, parties and such. Almost two years ago, I decided I wanted to play more. So I placed a CL ad, and clicked with the second guy I met. We've been playing weekly ever since but not gigging. At the same time, I got an Epiphone Dot Studio, which I've modded a bit, with GFS Mean 90s, custom pickguard and TRC. I'm enjoying my music a lot and if I can talk my buddy into practicing more, perhaps we can play some local gigs.

Hi and Welcome! I attended law school and lived in Salem back in the latter part of the '80s. Came to really like that valley. I hope you have fun here! :D

Welcome to TheFret, Heywood! I have an Epi Dot, too--great values, 'specially when you look at what Gibson is asking for 335's these days!

ive played many Epi hollowbodies, including the dot which is pretty awesome even unmodified, but i didnt like the £2000 vintage gibsons ive played, like the BB King Lucille reissue, far too boomy and full of low end.

welcome to thefret :D
