Very nice Ascension.

We have that same problem in Waco Sumi. Although I have heard of people finding some pretty sweet deals at garage sales.

Very sweet. I'll bet she sounds as good as she looks. Congrats!!

Winter headquarters, St. Petersburg, is lousy with pawn shops. Annapolis, not so much. Like pawns shops everywhere, lots O'junk and a very few gems. But fun to chase those gems down. Something to look forward to when we return.

That is one nice guitar. Did you just happen to stop in to the pawn shop for look-see of what they had available?

Very nice. I have a 1980 Japanese Alvarez that I bought for $100. It's the nicest playing acoustic I own.

It's a shop I stop by regularly and from time to time they have some killer stuff. I bought this Carvin DC 400 there a couple of years ago for $400 with a the Carvin hardshell.

Man, why can't I ever find pawn shops like that? You must live in pawn shop heaven, Ascension.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one who can still make a pawn shop score from time to time.

Congrats!

Typically, busier/larger pawn shops tag items at about 3X-4X what they paid for them. If it's a defaulted loan item, it will be in the 4X or more range. Ignore the tag and start with an offer of 1/3 of the tagged price, watch the reaction. Haggle up from there if you have to. Got to 50%, if no, walk away. They whistle you back? Go to 60%, if no, walk. Back again? Stop at 75%. Anymore and they're killing you. So if it's no again, walk out.
