I read something on the net that copper tape could be used to shield a stratocaster, I have some problems with hum from my strat and could this be a quick and easy solution?
Apparently you can use copper tape under the pickguard and inside the cavities?

Thanks Tot... my guitar doesnt have any shielding at all so I might have to try that trick with aluminium foil and/or copper tape.

I second Tot's suggestion. It's a good solution and not really expensive. You should DEFINITELY see a difference. :AOK:

A solution! Apparently I have a guitar builder only a couple of miles from here! ( http://www.m-musikshop.se/index.php?cPath=1_7&osCsid=bf707aefe8af88c66ead57ef8678cc85 ) .. I´m gonna let him take a look at the strat.

Keep the antiseptic cream handy. Your fingers will be covered in little cuts. Don't ask how I know this.

Wearing gloves might be a way to avoid the cream. ;)

I use these (http://www.monteallums.com/shielding_supplies.html) on my pickguards to shield them. Cuts the hum down a lot.

Really!!! this is cool, cause those toneriders I got can be noisy and I dont want to turn it down from the sweet spot, they really sound great,I always go for the bigger the better but I bought a loaded pickguard with vintage and glad I did gives me the tone and more with the push/pull vol pot.Sumi:D
