subtle sweep picking?

i had a whole hour on it today with my teacher, who showed me a bunch of little arpeggios and stuff. He also showed me how kirk hammett sweeps that fast part in the One intro solo. If you think about that sweep, its a 3 string, 3 note sweep then some hammers and pulls.

are there any other little riffs like that? with simple one way sweeps or easy two way sweeps? im looking to get better at this and i think this is probably a good way to start.

Check Premier Guitar. They've had a series on sweep picking. IIRC, the very first in the series started out with three-string sweeps. If you know anyone who has some back issues of GuitarOne magazine, in the Holiday 2006 issue's "Return of the Shred" column they have some two and three string sweeps.
