I have been on a bit of a Gibson LP jag for quite a while lately. The only Strat I have been playing is my Classic Vibe 50s Squier. Yesterday I broke out my 60th Anniversary in blizzard pearl. As usual I was blown away by the tone from this guitar. It is basically a JV strat with the rounded neck. The tex mex pickups are extremely cool sounding pickups. This one has an extreme flame on the neck and is a joy to look at and play. It is heavier and actually the body is thicker than most strats I own. I have the trem screwed right down ala hardtail and don't have the bar attached, and the sustain on this thing is sweet. I know Sunvalley has one as well. I think these are probably one of the best bang for the buck strats out there. If you can snag one, you will not be dissapointed.

Yes here they are. The neck looks like it was quarter sawn. Those are not shadows. It is even better in person.

This is the only one I have seen with that neck. My tech at the shop had it hidden away and called me about it. I had asked the week before and he said he had two coming in. The other one had plain neck. They were tinted though.

Strum, it is my Number One, and one is pictured in my avatar as well. I concur heartily. I tried a bunch of strats when I was shopping, and this one was the one I kept coming back to. They are great strats. Here are another couple pics, a promo shot I use as my avatar, and also of one in action:

And alongside an earlier pedal set up, and my strat's friend, Mr. Classic 30:

I bought mine from a working musician, who also had the trem screwed down. I have always left it like that. I love the neck on mine. It is the benchmark for me on what a strat type neck should feel like.

Thanks guys, now I'm kicking myself for not getting one of these a while back. :D

A guy I know needed the cash bad so he moved his on Ebay. I could have picked it up cheap. :thwap:

Just to add in some more discussion of this model, here is a link to a thread re: mine, way back from when I first joined.

I have 8 Strats and I ususally have one in my music room out of the case. I like to rotate them and there are certain things you like about each one. This one seems to have all the boxes checked off though. The only other one that really grabs me is the 50th MIA Deluxe. That has everything, but cost 3 times as much.
If you get a chance to get one of these unmolested, they are huge bang for the buck. As nice as my Squier CV50s is this blows it away.
