I have had a great interest in a nice Agile LP for years.

Anyone have any advice on the 3000 3100 models? They have some nice ones right now including a Tribal Green one and the specs look good.

Since I haven't owned an Agile my questions is to those who have and how they feel, sound. and look compared to for instance an Epiphone LP Custom. These models seem to be in the same general category.

The Epi LP Custom is one nice looking LP and it is probably better quality wise than my Epi LP Standard and my Epi LP Standard Plus top. But maybe not, maybe just some glitter but no actual electronic or wood or construction differences. I don't know. Epi would tell me they are way better than Agiles.

Since there are no Agile dealers to expound on the excellence and superiority of their guitars, I need to ask you all who certainly have better, hands on opinions of your axes and many of you own nice Epiphone LP's as well to compare to. Hey, I even like my black Epi LP Studio with Seymour Duncan pickups, ducncan designed I mean; but a/b'd to my Epi Standard with the SD Hot Rodded pickup set I could hear hardly any difference at loud bedroom levels. I like that Epi LP Studio, obviously.

Anyway, how would one of these top of the line Agile LP's stack up against a nice Epi LP Custom?

The Agiles have some awesome colors not available from Epiphone; like Tribal Green and others, and the Gold Top looks really nice. Why do I want a Gold Top? Someday I'll see one that really turns me on.

Agile seems to specialize to some significant extent in the LP models, so I'm thinking they have a lot of craftsmanship expertise built up over the years and probably source out to great factories.

Evidently the components are probably equal to the Epiphone LP Custom. Is that correct?

I don't want to get a Gibson unless I get a Gibson LP Faded, and I heard that the top of the line Epi's are better guitars, like the LP Custom, and the Agiles are probably also better, bindings and all.

Any help will be appreciated.

Just had my Hwy one and my brand new Gibson SG Faded stolen, awaiting what the insurance company will do. Probably get enough to buy a decent replacement but not two. Maybe one plus an inexpensive but great second one like an Agile 2500 or and ESP LTD 400 or an Ibanez ART100 or an Epi DOT. Those Dots are fairly nice guitars. Played one a while back. A Casino might be a nice expensive one in stead of an LP but I'm not leaning that way. I think I like the humbucker DOT way better. Any opinions.

Duff, I'm having the same issue, choosing a Les Paul type guitar. I got some great advice when I posted this thread (http://www.thefret.net/showthread.php?t=12421).

I don't care for the gold hardware on an LP Custom, so that isn't even something I'd consider.

Best of luck, and let us know which way you went with that.
