TRANSATLANTIC - the Progressive Rock Supergroup featuring DREAM
THEATER's Mike Portnoy, MARILLION's Pete Trewavas, THE FLOWER KINGS'
Roine Stolt and Neal Morse (Ex-SPOCK'S BEARD) - will release their
long-awaited third album in October 2009.

THE WHIRLWIND is a 77-minute piece of music that is sure to satisfy
the band's legions of fans that have patiently waited almost the
entire decade for the reunion of these 4 musicians.

THE WHIRLWIND will be available in two formats:

A Regular Edition Single CD of the entire 77 minute Epic as well as a
2-CD Special Edition containing a Bonus Disc with 8 newly recorded
Studio Tracks.

(4 new Transatlantic compositions and 4 Cover Songs)

Okay....the new album is a prog feast! Disc one is a 70 minute song and disc 2 has some great covers on it. All in all a very well done album. The drums and vocals all sound better than on the previous albums. There is more variety in the lead singing department. They all take turns and sound fantastic.

The big bonus!? This from Mike Portnoy:


TRANSATLANTIC: On his forum Mike Portnoy has stated that he doesn't rule out a new tour, in fact, if it was up to him they'd leave right this minute!
In a word: YES

It's just a matter of WHEN and WHERE....

The WHEN will be determined by when my DT schedule loosens up....

The WHERE will be determined by touring finances and offers. (It's likely it would be in limited markets, so if we cant come to you, try to come to us!)
