View Full Version : Just got a Barber Direct Drive

... and so I'm selling off almost all my other OD's (you can see my Monte-modded OD-3 and my Jekyll&Hyde elsewhere here).

Since I've decided to simplify my tone chase and concentrate on woodshedding, I'm just going to keep a couple of OD's that I know sound great. And so far, this is definitely a keeper. Plus Barber has modding instructions and suggestions for the pedal on his website. Haven't seen anyone else do that!

Anybody else try one of these? I can't believe the price (120US new).

havent tryed one myself but ive heard they're very hood, with smooth mid and low end.

Is it all you'd hoped it would be? What sets it apart from the other ODs out there? I have a Tube Screamer that I'm fairly happy with, and a Digitech Hot Rod Distortion that has been somewhat disappointing, but has some interesting tones that I can't get from the TS. How are the tones on the Direct Drive?
