Well, as earlier mentioned, I sent my ad30vt back under warranty to M123 - they said they would not repair but send a refund. So... I ordered one of the new VT30's to replace it . I got a good deal on what they billed as 'used #1 condition' (but which was undoubtedly a return - had all the packaging, manual), using a 20% off used gear coupon they had sent me).
Anyway, I was looking forward mainly to the new features, primarily the 8 user setting storage banks, and the extra amp models, figuring that otherwise it would pretty much be the same amp.
Now, I've only played with it for one day, but unless the sound of my ad30 was more affected by it's problems than I realized, I am finding this a very different sounding amp. For one thing, the amp models don't just seem to be the same ones plus 6 new ones, they appear to be all new, and I'm finding that I like more of them than I did on the ad30. I have to say that it seems to have a much bigger, clearer and more open sound, with lots more nuance and depth - my funky l'il Fullerton strat with GFS pups sounds completely different and much improved. I haven't tried the humbuckers through it yet - lots to explore this first session.
So, for what it's worth on such short acquaintance, and as much as I liked the ad30vt, I'm really glad to have this amp!
