Spud wanted pics, so here's a pic of my new (used) Stagg G300. It has a satin black finish and black hardware. Made in China, it has a solid mahogany body and set mahogany neck w/rosewood fretboard. Stock pickups sound pretty good, but I have plans for her:

- replace stock pickups with GFS Power Rails
- replace tuners (these work, but feel very cheap)
- may replace the black hardware with gold, but that's further down the road

Like I said in the other thread, this guitar just feels good to play. Once I'm done working on her, she'll be a real fun heavy metal axe.

Thanks for posting a pic. It looks great. I really like the position markers. Nice score.

I was surprised too, but that's what the brochure on Stagg's web site says.

As for the position markers, I like them as well. :D I'd never seen anything like them.

Well, I finally got finished tinkering with this thing. GFS Power rails installed and fixed an issue with some string buzz and I like it a lot :D I decided to keep the tuners for now because even if they feel kinda cheap, they actually work very nicely. May replace the knobs at some point with something a little more mean-looking.

Strangest thing about this guitar is that it sounds very good even when not plugged in.

Very cool. I like the looks of that axe.

Does it do "teh brootalz?" I'm thinking it probably does. :dude

Well, I'm not really good enough yet to know what all it's capable of, but it sounds prety good when I struggle through the opening of Back in Black :beavisnbutthead:

Yeah, I've come across that site before, Tig. Cool stuff. I like the one on the far right, center row.
