They look different and catch your eye, that's for sure.
But I think they lean toward the cheesy.
I think a burst finish always looks classy, especially with these Hagstrom and Reverend models.

What do you think about sparkle?

Silver, Blue or Red I like. Something along the lines of a Gretsch Silver Jet.

(I don't own one, just a good example of the kind I like)

The others...tacky. IMO of course.

I like that ambery burst for the F hole hagstrom. Having the F hole hagstrom with sparkle finish looks like it was repainted by the back alley body shop. But sparkly for a solid body would be just fine I think. In fact, I think that would be cool. IMO. In fact, I might need me a Schwinn Stingray Blue tele or strat one day!

Any of those would work for me, although I have a soft spot in my heart for red.

Just in case there's any confusion: I don't own one, just like them (the first picture I posted won't have helped, I've swapped it over).
A bit too expensive for me at the moment.

Have to agree with SVL about Sparkly semi-acoustics. Solid-body? maybe. Semi-acoustic? No way.

I'm the pleased owner of an Epi LP sparkletop in gold -- with a Bigsby, no less. A bit too heavy for (my) total perfection, but the Korean Limited Edition stuff plays and sounds pretty dang good. I usually like things more low-key than that, but I do like it, and it has always gotten admiring comments from female audience members. Interesting.

I'm a bit on the fence on sparkle guitars,
'cause I think only Billy Zoom can make 'em work! (it must be the matching smile)

If you want to overload on guitar bling, here's a site about the sparkly and mother of accordion covered Euro axes of the 60s.

I think on some it works, seems to depend on the guitar style/body shape. A guy I know painted his guitar to match his car, which was a strong sparkly mid-green. Id have thought it was going to be awful, but looked really good.

Not sure about that silvery one you posted though :S
