I was in our local used instrument shop today and saw what I thought was a Fender strat hanging on the wall. I went over to check it out and that was when I noticed the small "Squier" and "Made in Mexico" on the headstock (with a larger Fender logo).

I don't know much about the Mexican Squiers (first one I've seen). Are they any better/worse than other Squiers?

Well, did you play it? You had a Squier once how did it compare?
I've seen some that were alright and some not so good.

Nah, I didn't have time to plug it in and give it a whirl. Not really interested in getting it, just curious. I'd never seen a Squier with a prominent "Fender" logo.

Squiers have been made in many countries (even the USA briefly). There are good and bad ones but I'd hate to claim that all the Mexican ones fell into either camp.
