Saw it. Clapton had a nice, distorted tone.

Bruce Hornsby? Oh, Lord, was he was singing pitchy! My ears were not happy.

I agree. EC sounded great, and I wanted more of his tone, and maybe him to sing. Hornsby's performance was . . . well, if you can't say something nice . . . Let's just say I would loved to hear more of EC.

Clapton played fine, but I thought his tone was really nasty and unpleasant.

The whole band really did not play well - the tune just didn't seem to work. Seemed like there were way too many things going on in the band during the vocals, which weren't stellar exactly, I agree.

Man, this sounds like a very negative post... sorry (who am I to talk). I really like Clapton and Hornsby, don't get me wrong. This performance probably just needed another practice before the show.
