You know you have done a good job in this life.

"Dad, can I put on a vinyl?"

He quickly stated-- "It's already on the record player, I won't even have to turn it over, or put it on, or anything!"

The "vinyl" in question was Thin Lizzy's "Jailbreak," to which he and his sister had been introduced by meself the preceding week.

It gets better.

As he listened to Jailbreak, I had to run to the grocer's to buy some dog food.

When I came back, he was still listening to Thin Lizzy. His first statement: "Dad, the guitar solos on "Toughest Street In Town" and "S & M" are AWESOME!

He'd taken "Jailbreak" off and put on "Roisin Dubh."

This was probably the first time in his life he'd flipped a record, or for that matter even taken one off a turntable and put another one on, haha.

Roisin Dubh finished, and I showed him how to use the "cueing" button on the turntable, and we listened to "Chinatown" as we finished up his math homework.

Damn my kids rock.
