Transparent Overdrive and Paul C's Tim pedal

I had posted a clip on TGP with my TOD, and Paul C added some comments.

Quite interesting - it is according to him a rip-off. I asked him if it is a direct copy, and he said:


It's a copy. It was reversed eng back in Feb, and when it came out that it was a copy the owner confirmed it to me. They're coming out with a new version to replace it, but it's been 8 months now, and I think they're in beta testing.


I can understand his frustration, when people get the cheap TOD and they are so happy that it sounds so good, when that's all because of Paul C. :(

For the sake of clarity, it's Paul C's Timmy pedal that was copied. The Tim is a much more complex beast. On paper, the new TOD is even closer to the Tim. So far I've seen a few claims of TODv2 beta ownership but some of it reads like an attempt at viral marketing.
