This week we are doing part 2 of my 3 note per string lesson series with the fingerings for the Mixloydian mode. The next lesson will be the fingerings for the Natural Minor scale and then we'll have a lesson of licks and applications to wrap it all up.

In other news, we still have the Recordingfest going for next week if you are interested in sharing some music: http://markweinguitarlessons.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8195

And in even more exciting news, I've purchased the upgrade for the new forum/website software, which means that by the end of the year we will have one website with my lessons, blog and the forum all in one place with one user account. Users will also be able to have their own blogs and many of the instructors in my teaching studio as well as some of the more advanced forumites are going to be starting blogs to share their know-how!

More on this later :D

Cool as always! I like both the major and mixo versions. My instructor says the mixolydian mode is like the major scale, but dropping the "dork" note a half step to make it sound less like Julie Andrews. I suppose each scale/mode has its place, but a funny way to refer to it. Thanks again!

Thanks!
I always like doing things like this and then make students adapt their licks in one scale to the other.

I'm going to have to remember the Julie Andrews reference :D
