I went a little crazy today. As some of you know, I am a big fan of Heritage guitars. The short story is that when Gibson left Kalamazoo to start their factory in Nashville some of the original builders bought the factory and decided to build guitars on there own. This company became Heritage. Today, I bought four of their version of the Gibson Les Paul. Why? Because I'm an idiot and I enjoy a good deal. The first is a Black Beauty. \

The next is a goldtop.

The next is a tobacco burst.
http://i222.photobucket.com/albums/dd105/hubberjub/Picture073.jpg
The last is a cherry burst with one of the most amazing tops I have ever seen.

The 535 and Eagle sufficed to validate that statement before, hub ;)

But this move makes that proclamation an understatment :socool

How in the world did you 'stumble' onto this motherlode? :goodjob

And what drugs did you feed the seller(s) to get such a deal?

:applause

ps: Now....:poke tell the truth...:poke they're really Agiles with counterfeit headstocks, right?

Wingsdad, I found an ad by a gentleman in Scranton (about an hour south of where I live) who decided to give up playing guitar after years and years. He was getting rid of several guitars and a ton of pedals. He also has been building amplifiers and was selling them off. I saw that he had four Heritage guitars (three H150s, and one H157) and I made him an offer sight unseen. I was very happy when I saw them in person. Truth be told, I'll probably sell two of them because I don't need four of the same guitars. Unfortunately I will probably feel like that kid who's dog has a litter of puppies and is forced to give them away. I still haven't had a chance to plug them in at home yet. I need to spend some time bonding with them.

If you get in trouble you can come live with me. When a UPS truck pulls up to the house I get the evil eye...no matter what.

Those are some gorgeous guitars.

That cherry burst is gorgeous! I had always wondered what the deal was with Heritage, and why they can ask the same or higher prices than a Gibby, until I read the story in a book I borrowed from the library. Now I get it.

Nice score, brother. I'd have to sell a kidney to get even one of those. Hmmm, maybe I can sell the one that just passed a kidney stone...

Holy cow!

FOUR Heritage LP's?

At ONCE?

Dang. I'm bookmarking this thread, for the next time I find a guitar in a pawnshop for $150.

Congrats! Congrats! Congrats! Congrats!

Dude......you have supplanted Mudcat (on the basis of his $2K Gibson) as the hero of the GAS crowd with this score. Damn, 4 gits and you're still alive to talk about it? You are the Jedi Master.:applause

Any chance you can post a perfect pic of the burst? That look's like one of the sweetest bursting tones I've seen. Might want to use it as an avatar, if I may...:luvit

Does Heritage make chambered models?

I'll try to take some better pics when I get home. To answer your question, yes, Heritage does make chambered models.

I'm kinda partial to that tobacco burst. I like the brown burst/rootbeer flavored ones.

As long as you get them in the settlement I guess it was a good buy. LOL

I never heard of Heritage guitars before but they look extremely well made.

Are they heavy?
What type of wood?
Are they still being made today?

Nows that one heck of NGD for sure. :applause :AOK

Heritage picked up what Gibson abandoned 24 years ago. It's in their name:

The black :
H157 (http://www.heritageguitar.com/models/h157ant_specs.html)
The other 3:

Wow! Some seriously nice looking guitars there! Love the Black Beauty and the Tobbacco Burst. I'm not a big fan of Cherry Burst I must say, but that one looks very nice.

Enjoy the NGDs!

I take it you've added the comment about having to sell a couple to stop the alamony pony arriving at your door? :)

I have a pretty accepting wife. She is alright with the purchase so far. This purchase brings my total guitar count to 19. I just don't think I need four Les Paul style guitars (5 counting my Gibson). I'll probably end up keeping one or two.

Excellent. That's venturing into Krashteban territory for total guitar count.
