Here we go again guys... I am new to the forums here but not too new to the music scene..... i am here from going to Voodoomans website and reading his mods..

I play through a very heavily modded 1982 Peavey T60.
*EMG 81-60 pickups*
*EMG Phase inverter*
*Pink Floyd vintage tone and boost control*
*18V Mod*
*25k Pots w/.22 caps*
*along with many sound control and visual mods*

I play Mostly heavy metal, but i like my Country, blues and Hillbilly/Southern Rock.....

This is mostly for apartment and small room playing on a 1x12 or 2x12 cab when done..

I bought a Valve JR amp chassis complete ready to mod...Gonna build a head cab for it..Problem is there are so many mods and so many ways to do them, that i dont know where to start...I have looked very tiresly for 2 days and seem to be confusing myself with these mods....

I see the Bitmo mods first but they just dont seem to be worth the price when alot of these other mods do the same thing but just go about it a different yet cheaper way....

Now the one amp I have heard modded that i really really like had 2 added pots on the front and 3 switches... Man it sounded nice clean and held that low heavy chunk without mudding out when distorted... but i am unsure what all mods were done to get that result???

I was not wanting to spend $100 to $200 for mods.... I was planning on changing the tranny, boost&tone push/pull pot, gain pot, and a bright switch.. i beleive there are 3 other switch mods i need to do like standby, and amp tone 3 way switch?? I also want the marshall tone from it...

Like i said i am confused and dont know where to start?? Please help??

Few pics of my weapon of mass deafness(LOL)

I have to give the floor to duhvoodooman, but I own one of his creations.

Nice amp, but I don't use it that often anymore.

It and a Epi Wildkat are always on the market if someone is interested.

I forget what mods did I do to mine, but they were all pretty easy. I added a short-cable footswitch for 'boost' and a bright mod and a better hammond OT.

I recall what made the biggest difference was the 1K (I think) input sensitivity mod that made it much raunchier. I also use EMG's and this is how it sounded:

If it's helpful to you, take a look through THIS LINK (http://www.s2amps.com/docs/vj_kit_inst.pdf) for a nice rundown on various mods you can do for the VJr. Only problem is that it's tailored to the original version of the VJr and I don't know which one you have. For instance, if you have either v.2 or 3, you don't have to worry about the AC filament heater hum, since those verisons have a DC rectifier for the heaters. Also, I think the component numbering is slightly different. But it's orginized nicely into groups of modifications to address different characteristics, so you can look through and decide which ones would best suit you.

Another Fretter, Tunghaichuan, had a really nice, fully illustrated VJr mods document posted for sale that covered these later versions. You might want to shoot him a PM and see if he'd sell you a copy. IMO, it was well worth what he was asking for it....
