It was this date, December 8, in 1980, that John Lennon was shot and killed.

Our memories of you, John, will never die. In that way, and through your music, you live on...

When I was younger
Living confusion and deep dispair
When I was younger ah hah
Living illusion of freedom and power

When I was younger
Full of ideas and broken dreams (my friend)
When I was younger ah hah
Everything simple but not so clear

Living on borrowed time
Without a thought for tomorrow
Living on borrowed time
Without a thought for tomorrow

Now I am older
The more that I see the less that I know for sure
Now I am older ah hah
The future is brighter and now is the hour

Living on borrowed time
Without a thought for tomorrow
Living on borrowed time
Without a thought for tomorrow

Good to be older
Would not exchange a single day or a year
Good to be older ah hah
Less complications everything clear

Living on borrowed time
Without a thought for tomorrow
Living on borrowed time
Without a thought for tomorrow

I did what I do every year since that day. December 8th I bundle up and go for a long walk. His death was very tragic and senseless.

I honored John by playing Imagine tonight twice. I will never understand why his life had to end in such a tragic way, just when the world needed him more.

I love his rebellion, spirit, vision, and music, all of which live on today.

I found a photo that I've never seen before.

We could look back at the threads devoted to John on this date the past few years.

Yes, Lennon, his music, his guitar work, his writing and songwriting, especially Imagine had and always will have a profound influence and place in my head & heart.

I heard this on the car radio today, as 'tis the season...and found this on YT...you'll see pics of John, the man with his family, the father, the husband, at Christmas...and the message...well...ban me for posting it if you must...just like it was on some radio stations when it came out...may his spirit, this spirit, live on forever...
