...meaning it's crazy cold up here in Alberta!

It is currently -35°F (-37°C) and it's going down another 5 - 7 degrees tonight. Lovely.

My car wouldn't start today. Battery drained.

In Edmonton, a man was found dead in his front yard, and they said the temperature was factor. Yeah I'd say so!

Brrr.... I shoulda stayed in Vegas!

That's too darn cold for me Roberto. You're welcome to trip south and stay here for a while. We are 45 degrees warmer today than we were in the middle of last week. We got up to 32 F today. Whee!

It's 35 degrees here right now, expecting light snow tonight, started out at 10 this morning.

It has been below zero (sometimes more than 10 below) every night, and in single digits (both Farenheit) during the day all week. And extremely dry. That darned dry cold front floated down to us from Canada! It finally broke with some snow and temps up in the 20's today. Nice! A great day for skiing!

Well, not being one to brag or show off, I'll just mention that, although we've had a few nights in the high 30s F, it's mostly been hovering in the 70s and 80s F here in Florida. :what

To me it's a bummer, 'cause I like a cold Christmas season ("cold" here is like mid 20s to mid 30s F). AND, I have NEVER seen snow! Can you believe that!? :nope :thwap

It's been cold here for the last few days (as low as high teens in some parts), but today it is raining and about 40F. When it is raining and that cold, it feels like the cold goes right through you.

Good thing is it was unseasonally warm until last week, so maybe this winter will be gone before we know it. Someone told me every time you make a wish like that or "man I just want this day to end" - all you are doing is wishing your life away. You know, he made a good point.

Come on ole man winter, I installed the plow and I am ready for all you can dish out.

Oh man it is not bikini weather today. Had planned on going to see a family movie with the kids today, but the van refused to start... might not be able to get anywhere today, which may mean pizza delivery for birthday dinner!

I don't know how the heck you do that.....living way up North and freezing your butt off to go outside.....all the special things you have to do to the car, etc. Dude, better you all than me, is all I have to say.

I remember all too well, the Great Freeze of either 1980 or 1981, when it didn't get much above 5' F for a week or so. The Delaware River froze over (it's about 1 mile wide).

Yes, to you Canucks and Swedes, 5 above 0 F is child's play....but to US, it was freakin' ridiculous.

-50 in Edmonton yesterday. Coldest on record from what I hear. Stay warm Robert. We can't have those veins freezing now. The spring thaw would flood the province.

Sunday marked the coldest Dec. 13 in Edmonton’s history.

Environment Canada recorded a frigid -46.1 C, or -58.4 with wind chill, at the Edmonton International Airport at 5 a.m., Environment Canada meteorologist Pierre Lessard said.

The old record of -36.1 C was set last year, he said.

“To break a temperature by 10 degrees is very exceptional,” said Lessard.

A ridge of frigid Arctic air has hit all the prairie provinces this weekend, causing record-low temperatures in many parts of northern Alberta, Lessard said.

So -5C / 23F

That average isn't a ton colder than here. Average for today is 29F. We're going to be well below that (~9F) today because of those clippers you Albertans keep sending our way.

Yikes.

As a kid, I did live in central Illinois a couple times, both times living in old wooden homes with not the best heating systems, and of course it does snow and get cold there.

But that was a long time ago.

Mojo to all you frostsicles!
