Hey,

Is Crimson King an euphemism for the devil in the rock lingo?

It must. And all their followers along with the followers of Kiss will be burning in agony for all eternity. :D

From Wiki:
The first incarnation of the band was said to have been "conceived" on 30 November 1968 and first rehearsed on 13 January 1969.[2][5] The name King Crimson was coined by lyricist Peter Sinfield as a synonym for Beelzebub, prince of demons. According to Fripp, Beelzebub would be an anglicised form of the Arabic phrase "B'il Sabab", meaning "the man with an aim" – although it literally means "with a cause".[11]

Yeah that I found as well, but I had missed the quote on the beelzebub thing.

OK, good then. I wrote these lyrics at band practice and started wondering whether I was wrong about the meaning:

I whisper in your ear
softly lure you in my dear
And you see it's all so nice down here

I can love you better than him
I can love you better than him
I can love you better than him
I can love you better
I'm the crimson king

...and so on, it's still unfinished---

Maybe this will help............
The original "Court of the Crimson King"

The dance of the puppets
The rusted chains of prison moons
Are shattered by the sun.
I walk a road, horizons change
The tournament's begun.
The purple piper plays his tune,
The choir softly sing;
Three lullabies in an ancient tongue,
For the court of the crimson king.

The keeper of the city keys
Put shutters on the dreams.
I wait outside the pilgrim's door
With insufficient schemes.
The black queen chants
The funeral march,
The cracked brass bells will ring;
To summon back the fire witch
To the court of the crimson king.

The gardener plants an evergreen
Whilst trampling on a flower.
I chase the wind of a prism ship
To taste the sweet and sour.
The pattern juggler lifts his hand;
The orchestra begin.
As slowly turns the grinding wheel
In the court of the crimson king.

On soft gray mornings widows cry
The wise men share a joke;
I run to grasp divining signs
To satisfy the hoax.
The yellow jester does not play
But gentle pulls the strings
And smiles as the puppets dance
In the court of the crimson king.

Here's the finished lyric...I wonder what people might make of it?
They're intended to be very much horror genre at any rate. Do you interpret the narrator voice as actually 'demonic' (whereas him could be interpreted as whatever god the antagonist currently has) or maybe rather a twisted, delusional killer trying to lure someone for a victim, or what? I guess it don't matter though...as long as they are somewhat scary and mysterious.

Crimson King

I whisper in your ear
softly lure you in my dear
And you’ll see it's oh so nice down here

Won’t you step inside my love
Let me show you I’m the one
Let it go and take my hand right now

I can love you better than him
I can love you better than him
I can love you better than him
I can love you better
I'm the crimson king

Won’t you see what you can find
In my court you’ll feel alive
I will give you what your heart desires

And when all the work is done
Then forever we’ll be one
Sleep beneath the tower and the stone

I can love you better than him…
