Leo's excellent creation, the Strat, of course!

Its impossible for me to say which guitar that looks the best.. I kinda like the Firebird although I never had one.

http://www.philbrodieband.com/1964GibsonFirebird01vb.jpg

..And the strat, LP, SG, Jazzmaster, Jaguar, 335.. oh.. I love all guitars..

I must say the strat is the best design for the working guitarist. Removable neck and removable pickguard for modding. Can't beat that.

I was a Gibson guy but not no more. I love strats and kudos to Leo. :dude

If you want to look at pretty guitars go to the Carvin museum and :drool

Here's my sweet Carvin strat.

Despite my love for the ES335, the question is "...best looking guitar" and I would have to go with the Strat.

I have to agree with you there. There are many nice looking guitars, but I really love the look of a nice LP:

I really like the semi-hollow body look. Wildkat, Dot, but I prefer gloss black or red to the wood colors. I prefer the LP to a Strat.

In my opinion, either the Schecter Tempest Custom:

Or the Bernie Rico Jr Vixen:

http://ricojronline.smugmug.com/Music/Bernie-Rico-Jr-Hybrid-Vixen/DSC9307/634275649_4qWHi-L.jpg

I own a Tempest, pretty much exactly as the one above. The Vixen's on my wish list. :D

I'm not sure any normal Strat or even Les Pail would be in the running for best looking when there are so many amazing looking guitars hand made by small-scale luthiers. Just look at what this guy does

http://www.divine-jones.com/

I don't go so much for the fancy carvings, but some of his plainer models are gorgeous.

He sells through this site, which is just GAS heaven

http://www.destroyallguitars.com/

It depends on what limits on price and availability you want to set.

The strat is probably my favorite, but the telecaster has grown from me not liking it to really liking it; and of course, the Les Paul cannot be underestimated. And my SG, I'm so undecided. I would have to say I like my American Standard strat and my Squire Deluxe and CV fifties probably the best and they are all set up differently for different sounds.

Well I have a new winner for sure.

The new PRS Dragon.

I have never seen a fretboard even remotely close to as awesome as this (http://www.prsguitars.com/25thdragon/index.html)

Pics of the red one here (http://guitarasylum.wordpress.com/2010/01/14/prs-25th-anniversary-dragon/)

Sure it's like $16k and they are only making 100, but I say, totally worth it just for the fretboard inlay.

That's a nice looking guitar. I don't think I've ever seen a strat with a body finish like that, looks like it once belonged to a French polisher or something. (I mean that as a compliment). Excellent choice of pickguard and hardware too. I like it a lot.

Whats the story on that axe Bloozecat?

Thanks, Ch0jin.

I made it several years ago. It's a Warmoth body and neck. The body is straight grained Koa with a highly figured Koa top. The neck is maple/rosewood with a 10"-16" compound radius. The pickups are made in Oz Kinman AVN Blues, Sperzel locking tuners, Wilkinson bridge w/steel trem block. I finished the body and neck in nitrocellulose lacquer.

I chose black pearloid for the pickguard to pick up the black streaks in the wood; the gold hardware to compliment the dark amber tone of the wood.

When you start any project you always hope that the finished project will match the vision. In this case, everything fell into place beautifully.
