Just a few shots from snow storm damage that I worked on last week.

I'll admit, I'm a cruel cruel man.
That pic was taken about 4.5 km from Casa Krashpad. Although I don't know what time of year. My lawn is still green though, and certainly not covered in any white anything.
If it makes anyone feel better, there is a freeze warning in effect here tonight; I may make a fire in the fireplace rather than turn the heat on.

Yeah, we have a winter warning tonight as well, Brian. I might have to close the windows. . .

Great photo, Blaze.
Here's another of our golf course, but this time there's snow.

These are great photos. Could I make a Fret request? Could we get the forum changed so that it inlines the images? Or is there a reason we can inline youtube but not images? Thanks!

What do you mean bcdon? You can embed photos from anywhere, and you can also upload photos and store them here on the fret.

Oh, okay.. sorry about that.. I thought people were posting links to images because embed wasn't supported. Sorry about that. Maybe I shouldn't have another glass of wine after all. :happy

Hi Robert,
I think I can now explain what I was talking about. I always use Firefox to view The Fret and images always appear as a link instead of being embedded in the post. This is why I thought that we can't embed photos here. However, when I use Internet Explorer the images are embedded.
Looking at the HTML source with IE, your first post to this thread uses
<img src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_kmpRYJWvkw0/SzaVA50Bd7I/AAAAAAAABes/eiFon30d5TY/s512/PC264119.JPG" border="0" alt="" />
While in Firefox, the HTML looks like:
<a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_kmpRYJWvkw0/SzaVA50Bd7I/AAAAAAAABes/eiFon30d5TY/s512/PC264119.JPG" target="_blank">
IE gets an IMG attribute while Firefox gets a HREF. This is why the image wasn't embedded in the post but only rendered as a URL.
Does this make sense?
Cheers!

Are you using the image button on the toolbar? It looks like a mountain and a sun - use it to paste in the image url.

Those links aren't correct.
Find the image you want to post - highlight and copy the URL - click the yellow square icon in the 'reply to thread window' - paste the link in the pop up window - submit reply.
That should work.

The HTML source that I posted was from the first post in this thread, by you. The HTML rendered in IE used the IMG tag while the Firefox rendered HTML used a HREF. I appears that the forum software renders the page different depending upon your browser type.
Just to be clear: Look at the source code to the thread and find your very first post. If you compare the source from Firefox and IE you'll see what I mean. Honestly, it's no big deal just thought I'd let you know.
EDIT: Here is a screen capture of post #1 of this thread from Safari on the Mac (renders just like the PC Firefox)

FWIW, I doesn't do that with me with Firefox 3.5.6 in Linux.

I just tried Firefox 3.5.7 under Linux and it renders fine as well. Sorry for de-railing this thread, it wasn't my intention.
EDIT: I just noticed that I've never seen the user avatar or sig line on The Fret (using Firefox on the Mac/PC) until I tried the Linux Firefox.

I use Chrome and some functions on the menu bar aren't available as they are in Explorer either.
So I guess you have this under control now?

If you're not seeing avatars or siglines, check your settings in the User CP.. there are options that need to be checked to enable viewing them.
Otherwise... great winter photos... I may have some to add, if I can find them. :-)

So it was an idiot user problem after all, the idiot being me! :thwap
I had all of the following unchecked. This is why the images were showing up as links instead of [IMG]. Thanks again!! :dude

These are taken in SW Michigan, little more than a two hour drive from Chicago. I took them to express a mood, not for scenic purposes, but I dig em, jest the same. They were taken from roughly the same spot. Imgine if you are facing 12 o'clock, the shoreline/sunset view is at 10:00 and the red structure is at 2:00. I've been going here every January for 15 years.
