Album Recommendations!

Hey y'all!

Long time no see :D I hope everyone had a nice Christmas and New Year's!

I, on the other hand, have been trying to get as much music as possible. My momma got me a big ol' iPod, 160gb, and I've been having a real hard time filling it up :/

So I was wondering if anyone here can recommend some good players, bands, etc. especially concerning jazz.

I need to bone up on my jazz, blues, country, soul, funk, fusion, and world so if anyone can help with any of them as well, would be cool :AOK

I've already got most of the rock/metal (still need Rush, Genesis, Jethro Tull, etc.) and I still have 79gb to fill.

My main interest is in albums, as opposed to individual tracks.

Over 1000 albums so far, and many more to go!!

Some great players. Robben Ford Blues/Jazz. Ronnie Earl Blues. Of course you have heard of Gary Moore. As Marnold said Joe Bonamassa. A really cool blues album by an Icon Robin Trower "Another Days Blues" . Anything by Buddy Guy, Albert King, That should get your a couple of gigs of storage.

Check out days of the new. There sort of an alternative grunge band but they play almost all of there guitars on acoustic.

I can't believe I forgot to mention Tommy Emmanuel try his "CGP Live One" live double-disc. I particularly like his version of "Classical Gas." Since someone else mentioned Robin Trower I think you have to look at his classic "Bridge of Sighs."

For a taste of country I suggest "JUSTIN MOORE" his 2009 CD reached #1 back in October and has a great variety on it.

BLUES: Tab Benoit----Get his self-titled debut album and then get THESE BLUES ARE ALL MINE. Just great stuff from a really fine player who stays within himself.

SRV/Albert King----IN SESSION. Two great players just sittin' around throwing licks back and forth. As tasteful as it gets.

Go on to YouTube and watch the vids by DogHouseDave......a British bloke who just is an extremely tasteful guitarist, both electric and acoustic (Resos too). Thumb and two bare fingers......economy of motion....he doesn't try to reinvent the wheel. Check out his version of BORN UNDER A BAD SIGN (smolders) and then his instrumental, 28 TWELVE BAR SHUFFLE (5 minutes of fabulous riffage).
