Glad to see Schecter is still making some retro-inspired models. The P-100 oughta be a proper P-90, though I guess with coil-tap maybe the result will be the same. And why not make the pickups in the other one ACTUALLY "filtertron-esque" instead of putting the same ol' same ol' in a different cover? They kinda screwed the pooch on pickup selection.

Seems like they're trying to shed their metal image.

I'm glad they aren't using the super colossus X-jumbo frets on these models. That was always a turn off for me on many of Schecter's models.

I love my Schecter. Great low action, fast neck, and regular ol' jumbo frets. I thought about buying another one, but all the guitars I tried out had the X-Jumbo frets, which was a turn-off for me as well. They are great guitars, though.

I still like the C-1 Plus. Very versatile, regular jumbo frets. Puuurty finish.

The similar Peavey HP Signature Series EXP is a close competitor to it. $550

I'm still kicking myself for not picking up one of those Schecter Banshees when they were available. I like the vibe of that guitar. Sorta like taking a Squier 51' to the ultimate conclusion.

I agree. Ever since I found out about them (from Pes' gig report), I've thought they looked like the sort of guitar I would spec out if I was in the market for a new one (even if I'm not big on superstrats).

My new boss just mentioned that he had an early Schecter (ran him $850 several year ago), but had to pawn it for quick money to hire a session drummer to help record his CD.

I'm eating this new job up, and on top of it all, my boss has been playing for almost 25 years! Talk about cool... He's down to 6 guitars, but he hasn't mentioned what they are yet. He did mention that he has an EVJ.
