Does anybody have any experience on the subject of guitar cable capacitance? Some of you have read a few of my posts inquiring information on losing tone while running through a PA system.

I ran across and article which discusses tone loss due to the cable resistance/capacitance. Presently I am losing the lower frequencies.

Presently I am using a 30 foot guitar cable from my Digitech RP 100A to the PA input. This cable is not a known name brand (el cheapo brand).

Could the inexpensive brand or the long 30 foot length cable be affecting my overall tone?

Any suggestions or debate is welcomed. Thanks.

30 feet seems long. I think my cables are 10' and 20'. Get an MXR Micro Amp to compensate for signal degredation.

The guitar cable can really make a difference when it comes to tone quality. I recommend that you buy a quality cable, and try a bit shorter as well.

You could try to get hold of a Boss Enhancer pedal, which can work miracles on "dead tones"

Only my 2 cents....
