Played a Marshall Class 5 today extensively with four guitars.

It is made in England. All valve.

Tone is incredible and it's loud, but when you turn this class A beauty up it goes into overdrive, at least with humbuckers.

Also it has incredible touch sensitivity. When you pick light it is clean and about the same volume as when you pick hard, but when you pick hard it overdrives the amp beautifuly with a great smooth overdrive with the volume set at the lower level in the clean zone. You can vary your picking force and get an intricate rythym or riff going. It's cool.

Ten inch great sounding speaker. Sounded better than the Red Blues Jr. with the Vintage 30, except on clean, the Red Blues Jr w the V30 was incredible.

You know, Marshall vs Fender tone.

The Marshall is about half the price of the Blues Jr.

The Class 5 has four knobs; volume, treble, mid, bass. No gain. Class A. Turn it up and it overdrives nicely. Very loud five watt amp.

Apparently made to high quality standards in England.

Great looking old school, bluesbreaker type vibe to the appearance.

Might be my next amp. Really liked it for at home use, or even with a semi loud drummer, not a slammer, in a small place. Great for home use however, super great tone at just that right home volume. Makes your guitar chime and roar in a way that just might hit the spot for a lot of guys.

Definitely worth checking out. Absolutely. All nonsense aside.
