I bought some Meguiar's Scratch X a while ago to rub out some scratches on an older Squire Pro Tone that SVL found for me. It worked really good. So since I had this big tube of it laying around I thought I'd try it on some other guitars. Wow! It doesn't get everything out but there is a significant difference in the luster and the amount of fine scratches that show.

This Pro Tone has a clear coat and I just tried it on an Ibanez S 470 that doesn't have a clear coat and it worked great on it as well. If you have an older guitar that you want shiny again this stuff works great.

Wait! Some people actually pay more for distressed, worn, relic-ed guitars...
Did you just ruin your investments? :mybad :poke

I know better, but couldn't pass up the opportunity. :rollover

I 2nd Spudman's recommendation! I've used Scratch X for years to remove boo-boos and it works better than I imagined. :)

Ya, my pigs ear finish guitars now have a jewel luster to them. Makes guitars shine like new again...except for the road worn series...however, what paint is left is going to be real shiny and good looking.
